Fairy Prions & Grey-backed Storm-petrel, Australia 2011

The two smallest seabirds of the pelagic (both a tiny fraction of the size of Albatrosses), and both typically light-footed tubenoses. Fairy Prions were increasingly numerous the further out into the Tasman Sea we sailed, and at least 40 joined us overall; in contrast, the Grey-backed Storm-petrel was a much appreciated bonus, and only the third ever record for New South Wales.
